Day 1 | Your Journey Begins in Rome

Welcome to Italy! Check in to your hotel for a two-night stay and start exploring Europe's largest open-air museum. Shrouded in legend, Rome is home to hundreds of ancient artifacts, architecture, beautiful churches, and Basilicas such as St Peter's and St Martin's. (Overnight in Rome)

Day  2 | Rome

On your guided tour today, walk in the footsteps of gladiators at the famous Colosseum and stroll through the ruins of the Roman Forum. The rest of your day is at your leisure, why not stop for a delicious Italian treat in one of the pretty cafes by the Trevi fountain? (Overnight in Rome) B

Day 3 | Rome to Naples

Travel directly from Rome to Naples in standard class onboard Trenitalia. Spend the rest of your day exploring one of the world's oldest cities on your own. Start in the Piazza del Plebiscito with its grand colonnades and Royal Palace. Alternatively, head to the Naples National Archaeological Museum, which offers the largest collection of Roman artifacts in the world. In the evening, sample some of the best pizza in Italy or take in a performance at the world-famous Teatro di San Carlo, the country's largest and oldest opera house. (Overnight in Naples) B

Day 4 | Day Trip to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius

Head out on your included day tour of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Wander around the ruins of Pompeii and see the Forum while hearing stories about how the city was buried under the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You’ll also visit the excavations on foot with a local guide. Return to Naples following your tour. (Overnight in Naples) B

Day 5 | Naples to Sorrento

After breakfast, enjoy a private transfer along the picturesque coast from your Naples hotel to your Sorrento hotel. Sorrento is a stunning town perched atop cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples. After checking in to your hotel for a two-night stay, explore the charming streets, enjoy breathtaking sea views, and try the famous Limoncello. (Overnight in Sorrento) B

Day 6 | Day Trip to Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi

Today you'll get to explore more of the breathtaking Amalfi Coast on a guided tour, visiting the picturesque towns of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. Admire the cliffside villages, colorful houses, and stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea as you explore each town. (Overnight in Sorrento) B

Day 7 | Your Journey Ends in Sorrento

Check out of your hotel after breakfast this morning and your private transfer will take you from your hotel to Naples airport. If you'd like to extend your journey to another city, just ask your Rail Expert and we can help you make all the arrangements. B
